Q: Is the Luncheon the only social function sponsored by the FiftyPlus Club
during the year?
A: Yes.
Q: Is the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon always held on the same day every year?
A: Yes. The FiftyPlus Club luncheon is always held on the first Saturday
after Labor Day.
Q: Where is the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon held?
A: The luncheon is always held at the Prom Center located at 484 Inwood
Ave. Oakdale MN 55128. FiftyPlus Club policy is to reserve this
Prom location 2 years in advance.
Q: What time does the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon event start?
A: The doors open at 10:AM. Lunch is served around noon. There is always lots of socializing going on before and after lunch.
Q: What time does the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon end?
A: Lunch is generally over about 1 o' clock. Many people stay and socialize
until 3 PM when we officially have to be out of the Prom Center.
Q: What should I wear to the Luncheon?
A: Casual dress is most popular.
For the men, you will see some wearing ties and sport coats, but others
wear more comfortable polo shirts. You could even see a Hawaiian shirt
or two. Shorts are out, pants are in.
For the ladies, attire ranges from slacks and sweaters or blouses, to
casual dresses.
Take a look at our Annual Luncheon video and see for yourself what
people are wearing.
Q: Who attends the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon?
A: The luncheon is primarily intended for anyone who graduated from
Washington High School more than fifty years ago and their guests.
Q: I attended Washington for part of my High School education but I did not
graduate from there. I would like to attend the Luncheon and visit with some
of my old classmates. Can I attend the Luncheon?
A: You bet you can. Contact one of your old classmates and come as one of
their guests. We will help you connect with one of your old classmates if
needed.
Q: If I sign up and pay for my reservation and then am unable to attend the
Luncheon, can I get my money back?
A: Probably. On the Wednesday before the Luncheon, we guaranty and are
charged by the Prom for all meals reserved at that time. If you must
cancel your reservation and request a refund, please contact us prior to
the Wednesday before the luncheon and we will gladly refund your
money.
Q: What can I expect if I go to the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon?
A: Anticipate about six hundred people, many your classmates, enjoying
handshakes, hugs and renewing friendships. Look forward to visiting a
great memorabilia room filled with all the yearbooks, old uniforms,
news clippings, pictures, and interesting bulletin boards with
information going all the way back to 1931. Expect a nice lunch
provided by the award winning Prom kitchen. You can always expect a
great time at our reunion Luncheon between 10 to 3.
Q: Can I sit at any table I want to at the FiftyPlus Club Luncheon?
A: Yes, if you signed up for the Luncheon ahead of time - but you must sit
at the table you signed up for on your reservation form.
All seating for lunch inside the ballroom is essentially assigned before
the event.
Every table inside the ballroom is labeled with a Class Year or Years.
On your reservation form you must specify which "Class Year" table
you want to sit at. We will provide the exact number of spaces at each
"Class Year" table for the exact number of people that requested to sit
there.
Specific seats are not assigned, but a specific number of people are
assigned to sit at specific tables prior to the event.
Volunteers spend much time of the Friday before the Luncheon
organizing tables and seeing that each table has the exact number of
chairs needed to satisfy the reservation list.
We cannot allow people to sit at a table they did not sign up for on their
reservation form. One person sitting at a wrong table would cause mass
confusion.
Q: Can I just show up for the Luncheon without a prepaid reservation?
A: Probably. People who show up for the lunch without a reservation
(Walk-ins) probably will be allowed in.
Provided:
1. There is adequate (extra) seating space inside the ballroom.
2. Walk-ins must pay a surcharge above the normal ticket price.
The extra surcharge currently is $10.
3. Walk-ins may not get their preferred food choice, if the
kitchen has extra of the food choice you prefer, then you will
get it. Otherwise you will get what the kitchen has extra.
4. All seating inside the Prom Center is essentially reserved.
Walk-ins will not be able to sit at the table of their choice,
but instead will have to sit at special "Walk-in" overflow
locations. Non-reservation (Walk-in) people MAY NOT go
into the ballroom and sit were ever they choose. All seating
inside the ballroom is assigned ahead of time.
